Lawyer Donald Kipkorir has taken another swipe at the Western Kenya leaders over the elusive Luhya unity saying they will never be united under a single political party.

Kipkorir argued the Western Kenya politicians will remain split between different political formations because they generally lacked focus.
The vocal city lawyer who has been critical of the Western Kenya politics described the Luhya leaders as unprincipled and politically cheap, besides lacking focus.



“I told you before and will repeat…Luhyas will never be united in one party …. Whether in Jubilee or NASA…Luhya leaders are the cheapest politically…There is no North star of principled leadership In Luhya nation. I have never seen a group so rudderless,” he said in Twitter post seen by TUKO.co.ke on Sunday, October 14.
TUKO.co.ke understands Kipkorir was reacting to remarks by FORD Kenya party leader, Moses Wetangula, who a day earlier declared he would rally support behind Deputy President William Ruto in 2022.

“I have assured my supporters we will be in government in 2022. The sure way to do it is working with Ruto who will lead the assault for the top seat,” Wetang’ula said in Butonge, Bungoma County, on Friday, October 12, during a visit by the DP who was in the area to launch several government projects.
Wetangula who fell out with the National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition co-principal Raila Odinga and vowed to fight him, had months earlier reignited the Luhya unity talks with his ‘brother’ Musalia Mudavadi.

The two pushed for merger of their parties, FORD Kenya and Amani National Congress, with the aim of bringing the Mulembe nation under one party ahead of the 2022 political contests.

A few months later, the Mulembe unity talks are yet to bear any fruits and with no sign of the Western Kenya politicians coming together under one party anytime soon.
